A series of free concerts titled “Americana Music at the Lodge” is presented every other Saturday, beginning in January, and continuing through March.
The seventh annual Americana Music Concert series will be in the Lodge at Camp Helen State
Park from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning Saturday, January 4, 2020. The free concerts continue on
Saturday, January 11, January 25, February 8, and February 23 with some of the best American
Roots musicians touring the country today. The concert series is hosted by Lucky Mud and
sponsored by Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection, Panama City Beach Convention and
Visitors Bureau, and the Friends of Camp Helen State Park.
Friends of Camp Helen are welcoming 2020 with a bang! On January 4th , The Americana Music at
The Lodge Concert series, once again, begins with perennial favorites, The Currys. A beautiful
blend of familial harmony, melody, stellar lyrics and a flair for the dramatic, The Currys will make
everyone happy they love music.
The following concert on January 11th , is a back to back win, win. The blazing
talents and personality of Bing Futch is a testament to pure joy. From Appalachian melodies to
down and dirty blues, you have never heard a dulcimer played this way or seen a mightier performer.
January 25th , Mean Mary is our featured performer. She really is mean: a mean fiddle and banjo
player, a mean singer/songwriter, and mean performer! Currently residing in Nashville, she is a true
Florida treasure. She’s not really mean, but she sure plays that way.
Our February concerts start on the 8th with a nationally renowned artist, the one the only, Webb
Wilder. He is full of Rock & Roll, blues, and a whole lotta fun, Scattered, Smothered, Covered in
Love, The Human Cannonball, there is no end to the talents of the man, the legendary Webb Wilder.
Then on February 23rd , last but not least, back by popular demand, Lucky Mud finishes the 2020
concert season. The producers/hosts and sometimes performers for the last 6 years of concerts, Mike
& Maggie McKinney (Lucky Mud) bring a delicious blend of harmony and wit, heartfelt lyric and
homegrown love for SwampyTonk & Folkabilly with a Florida flair.
Don’t miss any of these performances! It’s Americana Music in The Lodge at Camp
Helen! What could be better?
